Philip worked as a professional Green-keeper over a period of 14 years at prestigious golf courses such as Burhill and Camberley Heath before becoming the 1st Course Manager at the Old Thorns Golf & Country Club.
Old Thorns was still under construction when Philip started there and he took the course through its development to the inauguration 4 ball match between Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Bill Rogers (who was the then defending British Open champion) and Japanese golfer, Isao Ioki.
Philip eventually left The Old Thorns G & CC to start his own Lawn Care Business.
Philip studied Turf Management at the Bingley Turf Research Institute and holds the City & Guilds PA1 & PA 6AW spraying certification.
